United Kingdom Countryside

The United Kingdom, comprised of Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and England, has become one of the hottest destinations in the world. The UK is not only popular for Western-Europeans, but for visitors from all over the world. With such prestigious cities as London, Manchester and Glasgow the UK really has a lot to offer. This delightful island nation is geographically compact, yet spread out enough to preserve the countryside as home to tranquility and the spirit of the old country. From our broad offerings of UK Villas we’ve decided to present a brief overview of just a few of these wonderful destinations!

Scotland

Scotland CastleThis beautiful home nation is on the North side of the British Isle is surrounded on three sides by the North Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean with the fourth side bordering England. Although the capital of Scotland is Edinburgh, the largest city happens to be Glasgow. Much of the foreign conception of Scotland rests on movies such as Braveheart, which wonderfully portrays the amazing landscapes of the Highlands, home to the famed Loch Ness and, of course, Nessie!

This is apparent throughout this country with its rich tradition of arts, festivals, and literature. The amazing history of Scotland can be seen coming alive as you travel from place to place and city to city. Near the southern border of the country you’ll find Hadrian’s Wall, which happens to be some of the most famous remains of the Roman Empire in the world! Scotland boasts everything from Cathedrals to Castles, all the way to more modern attractions such as the well developed Glasgow music scene. From city to countryside and everywhere in between, the identity of this nation seeps through as a constant reminder that you’re experiencing somewhere very special!

Whether you seek solace, excitement, or simply a new adventure, Scotland will welcome you with open arms!

England

CanterburyAs home to 5/6 of the UK’s population, it’s easy to understand why England has become eclectic melting-pot of the British Isles. With London as its capital as well as the capital of the UK itself, England boasts some of the most famous historical landmarks in the whole world. Home to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and the former center of Western Exploration and colonization, England has much to offer. From sampling the classic fish and chips to the tours that follow Jack the Ripper, this is a country steeped in history and culture that many of us can relate to.

Big BenMaking the most of your visit to England means spending at least a little bit of time in London exploring. Take a stroll through Chinatown and Leicester Square then make your way to the historic city center, confusingly known as “The City of London.” If you’re interested in art and culture, head to South Bank on the River Thames to catch up with the vibrant art culture that is to be discovered! As a city with origins nearly two-thousand years old, this place emanates history and meaning. Everywhere you step used to be something else!

Following in the same fashion as London, the rest of England has much to offer. From the entertainment of Birmingham to the excitement of Manchester, England will draw you in!

This is just an extremely brief overview of two nations in the wonderful United Kingdom but it should provide you with a sense of what you have to look forward to! Sample the cuisine, ride the metro, see the Highlands, and have a sit in the pub. Relax your days away golfing in the countryside or even touring the ancient ruins! Our villas throughout the UK will serve as the perfect springboard to whatever your heart desires!
