Party Like It’s 1969 at the Fremont Street Experience
When visiting Las Vegas this summer, be sure to pack the platforms, bell bottoms and anything really groovy. The Fremont Street Experience will be flipping the time machine switch taking Las Vegas visitors back 40 years during the ‘Summer of ‘69: Vegas or Bust’ festival and concert series. Entertainment kicks off Memorial Day weekend and from there it’s 108 days of free entertainment you can really dig.
Bands scheduled to appear include The Guess Who, Blood Sweat & Tears, and Jefferson Starship. , The 5th Dimension, Canned Heat and Three Dog Night. The Grass Roots, Janis Joplin’s Original Band Big Brother & The Holding Company and Three Dog Night are scheduled to appear along with other iconic rockers.
The event includes super cool themed nightly entertainment, cover bands, tribute artists, theatrical performances, new Viva Vision show paying tribute to 1969 and special guest appearances. Did we mention admission for all concerts et al are free? Now that’s groovy, dude.

- “American Pie 4th of July” - July 3-5 - featuring Janis Joplin’s Original Band Big Brother & The Holding Company on July 3 and The Grass Roots on July 4
- “One Giant Leap: 40th Anniversary of Moon Landing” - July 16-26 - featuring Jefferson Starship on July 18 and The 5th Dimension on July 25
- “Woodstock TributePalooza: 40th Anniversary of Woodstock” - Aug. 14-16.
- “Labor Day Weekend: End of Summer, What a Bummer Bash” - Sept. 4-7 - featuring Canned Heat on Sept. 5 and Three Dog Night on Sept. 6
Never been to the Fremont Street Experience? It’s located in historic downtown Las Vegas and a five-block entertainment complex featuring Viva Vision. At 1,500 feet long, 90 feet wide and suspended 90 feet above the pedestrian mall, it’s the world’s largest video screen. The Freemont Street Experience is renowned for its spectacular light and sound show.
