Swine Flu and Travel to Mexico: Let’s Be Concerned, Not Panicked
Mexico can’t seem to catch a break this year in regards to tourism. First it was the travel alert from the U.S. State Department during Spring Break and now the country seems to be the hub of the swine influenza (swine flu) outbreak. The U.S. State Department issued a travel alert earlier this week stating that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a notice recommending Americans avoid nonessential travel to Mexico.
If you have an upcoming trip to Mexico it’s time to exercise some common sense during this swine flu outbreak. At publication date, Mexico City seems to be the epicenter of it all which is in the center of Mexico, but swine flu cases are being reported at other locations throughout the world and within the United States. Before proceeding with your Mexico or any other travel plans this spring be sure to know the current status of swine flu and below are various resources to stay up-to-date.
