This weekend, July 23, nearly 1,500 women bloggers will convene in Chicago for the Fifth Annual BlogHer Conference. Parties begin Thursday, July 23, and informational sessions will be held Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25. The expo hall will also feature brand representatives from corporations as Michelin, McDonald’s and Walmart with some companies such as Tide and Nikon will be bringing celebrities to talk about their products. (Tim Gunn will be in the Tide & Bounce Laundry Lounge and Carson Kressley will be in the Nikon booth.)

A host of nightly parties should give bloggers something to blog about. BlogHer ‘09 promises to offer an exchange of ideas with like-minded bloggers as well as geek labs for the beginners and advanced bloggers.

On Sunday, July 26, riding on the end of BlogHer ‘09, Travel Blog Exchange ‘09 will be bringing together the country’s travel bloggers to discuss best practices in creating fabulous travel blogging to readers. Attendance is more intimate than BlogHer and in the hundreds vs. pushing 1,500. Sound like must-attend conferences? They should be and it’s evident by quickly the conferences sold out for this year. But don’t fret. The Twitter hashtag for BlogHer ’09 is #blogher09 and for the Travel Blog Exchange ‘09 is #TBEX for those wishing to follow the conference vicariously.
