New York CSI: The Experience Debuting in Las Vegas by End of Summer

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Welcome to Las VegasGrissom may be gone from CSI but Las Vegas visitors will soon step into a state-of-the-art crime lab to solve a crime mystery when the interactive exhibit called New York CSI: The Experience opens later this summer. The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino located on the Las Vegas Strip will house the hands-on exhibit.

The interactive science exhibit is a result of the 2006 traveling “CSI: The Experience” which was developed by the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History with a grant from The National Science Foundation and  toured U.S. science museums. Visitors will be able to play the role of crime scene investigators as they try to solve one of three crime scene mysteries. They’ll learn scientific principles and real investigative techniques to piece together evidence.

They won’t be doing this alone. Input from the television show’s investigators will provide input to help CSI: The Experience visitors formulate a hypothesis, take scientific evidence to validate their findings as they attempt to crack the case. Evidence they’ll examine range from DNA to forensic anthropology and toxicology to fingerprint analysis. Like the television show, dazzling special effects will “wow” wannabe crime scene investigators. Cast members from the CSI television series will be with visitors from beginning to end through a pre-recorded video.

An exact opening date has not been pinpointed but officials are optimistic it will open before the summer ends. Admission will cost $30 per person. Make travel plans for an early fall Las Vegas vacation now to be one of the first to solve a crime.

Being big fans of the CSI series, we’re looking forward to the exhibit’s debut but wonder what The Who song will be played when entering the exhibit. Will it be “Won’t Get Fooled Again,”  “Baba O’Rily” or “Who Are You?”
