Fido Will Play When Master’s Away: New Pooch Hotel in Sunnyvale, CA
There’s bound to be a howling good time on Sept. 26 & 27 in Sunnyvale, California, when a new lush hotel holds its Grand Opening. Guests here can expect paw-dicures, fur color touch ups, and Poochberry facials, among other customized amenities. We’re talking about the Pooch Hotel, a five-paw, err, five-star hotel and daycare where guests are furry, wag tails and lounge in luxury.
During the Grand Opening, guests – two and four-legged – will receive free tours of the 30,000-square-foot facility, 10% discount on all daycare package purchases and reservations, and chance to win fabulous prizes. Also, an artist will draw portraits of owners and their dogs in exchange for a donation to a benefiting charity and a silent auction will benefit the Humane Society of Silicon Valley and Pets Unlimited of San Francisco. Both humans and their canines can receive massages and paw-dicures and manicures. Tours begin at 10 a.m. and refreshments will be served between 4 and 6 p.m. both days.
The facilities are environmentally friendly, employee certified Pet Care Service Association (PCSA) staff, on-call veterinary care and easy drop-off and pick-up for clients 24 hours a day, seven days a week are available. Home pick-up and drop-off is offered, too.
Man’s best friend will lounge in luxury in custom-made hotel suites, 15,000 square feet of play space, exercise pool, underwater and land treadmills and dietary programs.
Pooch Hotel is family-owned and operated with two additional locations in Chicago (Lincoln Park (2228 N. Clybourn Ave. and West Loop 1214 W. Monroe St). Sunnyvale is the first Pooch Hotel in California and located at 180 North Wolfe Road at Central Expressway in Sunnyvale (only five minutes from the San Jose Airport). Reservations can be made by either calling (800) DOG-8199 or visiting www.poochhotel.com.
Now that Fido is taken care of, where are you going on vacation? Sedona is lovely this time of year along with Las Vegas. Or, if looking to use the passport, try an international vacation in either Playa Jaco in Costa Rica or Riviera Maya in Mexico a try.
