A Leap of Faith and Bragging Rights at Stratosphere Las Vegas
Van Halen once sang, “Might as well jump.” But have you ever wondered where? Stratosphere Las Vegas Hotel & Casino now has an attraction where you can go ahead and jump, the world’s tallest SkyJump located 855 feet above the Las Vegas Strip.
*Gulp*
SkyJump promises to be a thrilling, heart pounding ride unlike anything else in the United States. Riders are strapped into custom jump suites connected to a high-speed descender machine and free fall – in a controlled setting. The thrill is similar to skydiving or base jumping and is a descent of 829 feet between the jumping off platform to the landing pad.
Grand opening for for SkyJump Las Vegas was April 20 and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman was at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino today to officially unveil the exhilarating ride. Guinness World Records also attended and declared SkyJump Las Vegas as the highest commercial decelerator descent, breaking the previous record set by SkyJump at Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre with a height of 764.4 feet.
“Las Vegas is known the world over for having the best entertainment, restaurants, boutique shopping, hotels and gaming, and the new SkyJump attraction takes us to a world-class level for thrill rides,” said Mayor Oscar B. Goodman. “I look forward to this new attraction at Stratosphere adding to the amazing experiences that you can find only in Las Vegas.”
Wanna get your thrill on over the Las Vegas Strip? SkyJump Las Vegas costs $99.99 per person and riders must be 14 years old to jump. Additional information can be found at SkyJumpLasVegas.com and find fabulous Las Vegas accommodation deals with Resort Rentals International.
